The Afrolicious Hair Expo has been traveling the nation for several years. However, they stopped in Atlanta for the first time this year.
The expo included over 20 vendors. Not only were there well known businesses like Aunt Jackie’s Curls and Coils, but there were local businesses as well! These businesses promoted affordable products with all natural, homemade ingredients. Don’t be mistaken, hair products weren’t the only thing being sold! Many of the vendors sold jewelry, clothing, and home goods.
Guests were also entertained with different performers, like the Urhuru Dancers and the violinist, Joy Black.
If you weren’t able to grab an item from each of the vendors, there were opportunities to win them! Gift bags were given to the first 100 people in line and raffles were held throughout the entire event. The action was nonstop.
Participants 0f the Little Miss Afrolicious Pageant each received a gift bag too. And the giving didn’t stop there! A natural hair and braiding contest gave the top three winners cash prizes and the first place winner received $1,000!
Ironically, the hair expo didn’t just focus on hair or being “afrolicious.” Guests had the opportunity to discuss real estate with an agent and register to vote.
This may have been their first year in Atlanta, but we’re sure it won’t be their last.
