The tragedy of September 11, 2001 was one like none other. This was the day that hundreds of people were killed and forced to take their own lives. While to many, this may seem like a day in which we should take the time honor those who unfortunately and forcibly lost their lives, our President seems to think otherwise.
This morning, we received a series of tweets from our president, Donald Trump, starting with “We have found nothing to show collusion between President Trump and Russia, absolutely zero, but everyday we get more documentation showing collusion between the FBI & DOJ, the Hillary campaign, foreign spies & Russians, incredible.” Then, Trump goes on to quote some other tweets, apart of his regular bashing of the US Justice department.
Now, the first thought in my head is that, surely our President knows that today is 9/11 without reminder. The question that follows is, “As president of the United States, on this very sacred day that most hold near and dear to their hearts, the first message you tweet out is information regarding collusion in effort to clear your name?”
My follow up question is “Was this unintentional or is he truly as arrogant as he seems?” It’s appalling that on a day where so many peoples lives were sacrificed, the first bit of information we get is that of a self centered tweet.
These are very important matters that we do need the answers to, however, 7:08 AM is not the time to do so. Or, the least he could’ve done was acknowledge those victims of 9/11 initially in effort to provide the emotional support that the people who actually care about this day need from the person who runs the country that they call home.
