Here’s how things went
The show opens up with singer/songwriter Sevyn Streeter, coming out with her own team of precise dancers, it’s a solid performance with a few throwback guys that get the crowd amped. Her vocals are incredible. Even after it appears she takes the audience to the pinnacle, she comes back and hits them with her 2016 smash “Before I Do” She finishes her set by bringing some Atlanta grown twerkers on stage for a routine to the City Girls hit “Twerk”
Jacquees hits the stage amid the controversy of his “King of R&B” statements, and doesn’t quite live up to his claims. He gave the Atlanta crowd a solid performance, but when you dub yourself with such a high honor, you have to really burn it down. Best performance in his set was “B.E.D”, the worst part about it was him not performing “Trip” at all. The hometown hero came through tho, however the theatrics of the week definitely detracted from it.
Up next is DVSN, whom I’ve never seen in any form or fashion … EVER. He hit the stage with two background singers to perform his (their?) smash hit “In To Deep”. DVSN has incredible vocals, and delivered on each of the songs he performed , sonically, sounded amazing, the only thing he’s missing is more songs that connect with his fan base.
One of the better performances of the night was from none other than Oakland California’s own H.E.R. From hits like the duet “Best Part” with Daniel Caesar, and her own smash “Focus”, to her deep cuts, H.E.R had the audience on its feet from the beginning to end of the performance. This one definitely didn’t disappoint .
Next up , Brampton’s own, Tory Lanez . He hits the stage to a loud applause, and goes straight into the hits. The crowd is on fire, but he takes it up another notch and covers some of R&Bs biggest hits, and proceeds to finish off his set by having the crowd light the arena up with their phones and provided inspiring messages to those in attendance.
Next on stage is Jeremih, and while its trendy to pretend he doesn’t have a big following… don’t get it confused JEREMIH HAS HITS. He jumps straight into it , and has the crowd involved , belting out his bangers , such as “Oui” and “Planes” his show is only outdone by his last huge yellow fur coat. A+ performance from the guy from the Chi.
Next , things get really interesting.. Tank takes the stage with a sudden burst of energy, and the ladies in attendance are instantly captivated. He begins the show rocking a big red fur with high collar… and ended it shirtless. If that wasn’t enough, he stops his set to address the statements made this week by Jacquees… says “kings talk is for mere mortals, I am A GOD” finishes the set by bringing up Luke James and Keith Sweat, the latter of which performs his BANGER “Nobody”
Finally , Tremaine takes the stage.. YYYYYUPPP!!!!!! He takes center stage to a crowd already on 10, and he doesn’t disappoint… Trey runs through his hits with the help of his band, and finishes off the R&B portion of the show with a surprise performance from K-Ci and JoJo while Duval closes out the concert with his hit, “Smile Bitch” and debuted a new banger called “Pull Up”
Congrats to Reggie Rouse and the entire crew over at Entercom, great show. A Rating!!!
