Earlier today, Young Thug announced that the highly anticipated EP, “On The Rvn,” would be released at midnight with a trailer on Instagram. The project was supposed to be released on September 11th, however, Thug’s run in with the law caused a delay of the release. Furthermore, it was announced that Thugger was also still waiting on clearance.
Young Thug turned himself in on September 11th in DeKalb county for some charges he was facing in September of 2017. The charges included possession and intent to distribute meth and marijuana and other charges that included firearms. Luckily, Thugger was discharged on bond two days after his surrender. He will return on November 8th for his arraignment.
The project consists of six songs. Thug even collaborates with 6lack, Elton Jones, and Jaden Smith, which offers more flair to the project. In fact, 6lack’s feature on the song “Climax,” flows effortlessly on the beat. The two artists talk about being stabbed in the back by a former lover, however, they’ve seemed to move on to better and bigger things. The background vocals add to the vibe of the song and can get any fan swaying to the beat. On the other hand, the song “Real in My Veins” is a future fan favorite. It’s another anthem that people can rap at the top of their lungs. Thugger says “and if you look up to the moon, you’ll see my attitude.” This just sounds like a future Instagram caption. Overall, the song embodies what it means to be real no matter any situation. Both songs remain to represent Young Thug phenomenally. The whole EP gives similar feelings to his earlier project “Slime Language.” Currently, fans can stream both projects on Apple Music and Spotify.
